Krasnodar Region delegation holds talks with representatives of Saudi business community

These meetings formed part of the Krasnodar Region’s programme at the Innoprom International Exhibition in Riyadh.

Deputy Governor Alexander Ruppel and Stanislav Yankovets, Russia's Trade Representative to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, discussed opportunities for further cooperation between the Krasnodar Region and Saudi Arabia. Dmitry Khmelko, Minister of Industrial Policy of the Krasnodar Region, also attended the meeting.

«The Krasnodar Region and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia are actively strengthening their trade and economic ties. In the first nine months of 2025, trade turnover surged 51% over the same period in 2024. Companies in the Krasnodar Region are effectively exporting cereals, oils, beverages, and other products. We are optimistic about the potential for continued growth in trade turnover, including through industrial products. We are prepared to engage in industrial and tourism cooperation. The Krasnodar Region is also a major player in the health resort sector and is ranked as Russia's leading resort region,» said Alexander Ruppel.

The Deputy Governor noted that the Krasnodar Region holds substantial expertise in manufacturing irrigation systems, beach cleaning equipment, and agricultural machinery. The regional stand at the exhibition venue will feature manufacturers of these products, who are eager to collaborate.

As Stanislav Yankovets explained, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has a high demand for food products, such as meat (particularly poultry), flour, and sugar. There is also a high demand for health resort services, which could serve as a growth area for further cooperation. The parties highlighted that the planned direct flight between Riyadh and Sochi would lead to a substantial increase in tourist numbers.

Alexander Ruppel also held talks with representatives of MODON, the Saudi Arabian authority responsible for industrial cities and technology zones.

The Deputy Head of the Region explained that the Krasnodar Region is taking proactive steps to establish new production chains, attract high-tech manufacturing, and optimise industrial land use. The Krasnodar Region currently has nine industrial parks and two technology parks listed in the register of the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade. These sites already host industrial facilities operated by over 50 resident companies, creating more than 3,000 jobs and attracting investments totalling around 32 billion roubles over the past eight years.
